Dan Feldman
LPC, NCC,
CCMHC, CAMS-II
Dan Feldman, LPC, NCC, CCMHC is a professional counselor whose passion is empowering individuals to overcome whatever keeps them from being all that they strive to be. For Dan, the therapeutic experience begins and ends with the client relationship. Providing an invitation to a consistently safe, encouraging, and nurturing space in which clients can explore their own hearts and minds is the goal. Dan is open and genuine in presenting his true self to each client while providing them with unconditional positive regard and empathy. This sort of trusting therapeutic relationship provides the foundation upon which positive change can be achieved.
Dan employs a variety of treatment approaches to fit the personality and temperament of the client and the specific issues of concern. These include person-centered therapy, existential therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), narrative therapy and reality therapy. An integrative or blended approach combines elements from different approaches to craft individualized treatment plans to meet every client’s unique needs. Dan’s experience has allowed him to develop competence in addressing a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem or self-confidence, grief, anger management, relationship clarification, divorce recovery, trauma recovery and many others. Dan has experience working with individual adolescents and adults as well as couples and family units.
Dan works individually with clients as young as 12 and as old as 90. He also loves working with couples and families. Marital or couples counseling can be one of the most challenging yet rewarding endeavors. Dan seeks to maximize the connection and commitment of every couple. Couples in crisis will find support, encouragement and progress toward relationship healing and growth.
Dan has been recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors as a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. He has received specialized training in a variety of other techniques and approaches. He is a certified anger management specialist level 3 (CAMS-III) and a certified clinical hypnotherapist (CCH). He regularly attends training events and conferences to sharpen his therapeutic skills.
Dan is also on staff with the Center for Navigating Family Change (CNFC.org). He is serving as a presenter for the Basic and Advanced Seminars for Parents which is a court mandated course for divorcing parents in Gwinnett and Dekalb counties. Dan provides co-parent counseling, coordination and reunification services through this organization as well. This affiliation allows Dan to add additional emphasis to an area of practice of high importance to him - helping families in transition due to divorce. He works with children whose parents are divorced or divorcing, couples and individuals both pre- and post-divorce as well as individuals trying to decide the right path forward for themselves who may be contemplating divorce or reconciliation. Dan has a strong commitment to assist in the healing, forgiveness and recovery of any individual affected by divorce.
