Laura Fortner
LAPC, NCC
I am an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) licensed in Georgia and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I work primarily with older adolescents and adults (17-95+).
I have experience working with individuals with trauma, anxiety, depression, self-harm, perfectionism, and other life stressors in both private practice and hospital settings. I utilize a multidimensional therapeutic technique based primarily on a Person-Centered and strengths-based approach to help individuals meet their goals. My methodology includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) informed practice. As a therapist who is a Christian, if you would like faith/spirituality integrated into counseling I can do so upon request.
I enjoy walking alongside clients whether you are working to meet their personal goals for improvement or combating intrusive and challenging thoughts, memories, or behaviors. As a military spouse, I am passionate about working with veterans, service members, and their families to process and cope with military life stressors.
I am currently only available to meet for Telehealth (online) appointments for individuals in the state of Georgia. I do not accept insurance at this time.
