Elissa Navarrete, LAPC is a therapist with a passion for helping individuals reach their full potential, experience freedom, and realize hope. She has a unique interest in holistic nutrition and functional medicine, particularly as it relates to mental health and wellness. She believes that holistic changes bring lasting benefit to the mind, body, and spirit. Her top priority is ensuring her client’s health and safety and maintaining an awareness of the goals that her client brings into the therapeutic relationship.
Elissa received her master’s in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Virginia in 2013, graduating with highest honors. She is currently pursuing a credential through the American Fitness Professionals Association (AFPA) as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist. Elissa is committed to be a life-long learner and strives to stay current on mental health topics by attending conferences and continued education.
Elissa is trained in the specialty technique Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This technique is a psychotherapy treatment that is known to assist in alleviating the overwhelming distress associated with psychological trauma. EMDR along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a client-driven focus is the cornerstone of her practice.
Elissa has experience working with trauma, addiction and the co-existing issues, anger, anxiety, depression, grief, military life issues, and psychosis. She has a passion for helping parents of children with ADD, ADHD, Autism and other childhood disorders. She believes in the least invasive method of treatment and that individuals have in their possession many of the strengths necessary for change.
