While it is my job as a counselor to listen and validate your feelings and experience, I am also here to challenge and confront you to grow, learn, and to get you out of your comfort zone that leads to lasting changes. Therapy is a collaborative relationship to address mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, challenges in life, and relational and family conflicts. Most of the therapy work transpires outside of the therapy room. My name is Chloe Kim and I provide therapy to individuals (ages 12 and up), couples, and families. I received my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. My undergraduate degree is in Religion. I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) and a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors with recognition as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). My counseling style is holistic in which it incorporates physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual aspects of one’s wellbeing. I provide a safe environment for my clients to explore and gain insights and understanding of self, others, and the world. My approach for therapy is CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) to help you address your emotions, thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. I am committed to helping clients process their deep thoughts and feelings and learn new coping skills to manage daily stress and struggles and overcome challenges in life; and ultimately lead clients to flourish.
We all go through challenges in life and need somebody to talk to in those difficult times. Or it could be that you simply need somebody to be accountable for as you change your old habits or ineffective coping. Whatever the reason may be for you seeking therapy, my goal is to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and support you in navigating through the challenges of life and to help you explore and discover the joy and smiles in life. I hope to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to share their deepest hurting, darkest secrets, and hopes and dreams for the future and to find strengths and bring healing.
